Bob’s Bird Barn WITHDRAWN

The artwork consists of 24 printed canvases of 15×20 cm each, and they are similar to the birds on Bob’s. The panel itself is 160 x 80 cm. The warm-gold painted frame is part of the construction. You can rearrange the canvases the way you like.

Description

For about a century this building in the center of Maitland, was home to the Carrington Hotel, which closed down in the 1980’s.
Then came a pet store named Bob’s Bird Barn. But the last few decades the building has been empty and neglected by the owner. To prevent further deterioration, the Council covered the windows and doors with black boards.

The building became an eyesore for the whole community and ‘someone’ ;) began to think about how to give the building a facelift.
The decision was to bring back the birds. The way to do this was to paint birds on new boards and attach them to the old black boards of the building. Coincidentally I know it was done at night, with an 11-meter-high ladder.

Recently I made small versions of all the birds on Bob’s and hung them on 1 large black panel. The artwork consisted of 24 canvas of 23×30 cm each. The panel itself was 244 x 122 cm. It was sold really quickly.
Now you can get a limited edition of the same construction (24 canvases on 1 panel), but every single bird is printed on a canvas of 15 x 20 cm. That means the panel is 160 x 80 cm in total.
