Description
Protected against what?
Against staring eyes or bird poo?
And what exactly is protected?
Is it beauty that needs to be protected?
Or health?
In some countries, protection in itself is a comfortable way to avoid sunburn. A way to stay unnoticed in the mass, or to show the rest of us that you are part of a specific group. Also, protection is believed to preserve the beauty of the wearer and is therefore symbolically decorated with beautifying elements.
In any case, it won’t fully protect against the bigger disasters in life, like bushfires or diseases.
